The attached image shows what my start menu looks like.
At the top are nine folders that I have added to the start menu. This is exactly as I planned.
Right underneath that is an icon for uTorrent. The icon works in that it does start up that application (which I have installed) but I don't want that icon there. I have this application in the Networking folder above so there is no need for it here. I have been trying for many hours to make it go away but I can't seem to do it. It even reappears after a reboot. I have disabled recently used apps for the start menu so that can't be it. In fact I have crawled thru the dozens of the classic start menu settings many times and I can't find one of them that should put this icon there. I have searched my c drive to see if there are any stray links to this application and I can't find any. I'm not sure why these mysteries bother me so much, but if I don't want that icon there I should be able to remove it!

If anyone can suggest a way of removing it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.
~Paul

Have you tried right clicking it and choosing "Unpin...."?

I don't see "Unpin" when I right click on it. I see 19 items in the right click menu including "Pin to Start" and "Pin to Taskbar", but no "Unpin".

If I just hover over this icon, the hover text just says "Location uTorrent (D:\winu\uTorrent)" which is indeed where I installed that application.

What about the "Delete" verb when you right click it? Just delete it. Or you can drag it to move it inside "All Programs". uTorrent is one of the apps notorious for putting its shortcut in the Start Menu folder instead of the "All Programs" folder.

Oh my gosh. That worked. Damn ... why didn't I think of that.

But there was no shortcut for uTorrent in the Start Menu. I even turned on viewing of hidden and system files to make sure. Oh well, now that I deleted it I'll never know where it was hiding. Guess it doesn't matter though :)

Thanks for helping!
