Post subject:  win10, cannot get to new settings

I can see control panel items fine, just as in w7 and w8, but w10 has a new settings screen and classic shell provides no click path to it. With classic shell active the only way I can get to it is click the network connection icon in the tray, choose "network settings", then click the parent arrow in the upper left when the "network and internet" screen appears. From there I can click "update and security" and check for windows updates. If I exit or disable classic shell, the default w10 start menu has settings immediately available. I love classic shell. I donated. I tell others to use it. There needs to be a click path for the new settings screen.

In Classic Shell 4.2.3, there is a new command enabled by default to access the PC settings Metro app directly (Windows 8.1 and Windows 10). You can turn it on from Customize Start Menu tab. (It's below Control Panel).

To add the Settings item to the Start Menu if it is not already present:

Make sure you are using Classic Shell 4.2.3 on Windows 10 or Windows 8.1/8.

In Windows 7 style:
1. Open Classic Start Menu settings and go to the Customize Start Menu tab.
2. Below Control Panel, you will find "PC Settings" on that tab. Change it to "Display this item".
3. Click OK.

In Classic styles:
1. Open Classic Start Menu settings and go to the Customize Start Menu tab.
2. Look in the Available Commands section on the right. Below Control Panel, you will find "PC Settings". Drag it to the left column (Current menu items) below Control Panel.
3. Click OK.

If you have customized the items on the "Customize Start Menu" tab, then it may not show by default. You will have to add a new item (press the Insert key or right click -> Insert New Item) and set it to PC Settings. You can also right-click and select "Reset start menu" to get all the default items, including the PC settings and then customize it again.

You can start the Settings app from the "Apps" folder as well. Another way to start it on Windows 10 is type the following into the Run dialog:
ms-settings:

Win+I keyboard shortcut also opens the Settings app.
