When set Start button style to Classic, the button position is
little high.
I want to adjust this position.

Would you please confirm about my selfish request?

Hey Ivo you should attach all the default start buttons in the buttons section, so other users can more easily update them? (or does the fact that that button has text on it, make it special, and mean it cant be properly used as a custom button?

This is the classic button. It is not an image like the custom buttons, but is drawn by code. The only customizable part of it is the icon (a regular ICO file).

The position of the classic start button is designed to match the button in Windows 7's classic theme. Is that not what you are seeing?

I do not use classic theme, I use Windows7 Basic theme.
With Windows7 Basic theme, the position of Classic Start Button is slightly high.

You can make your own button image and use transparent pixels to fine-tune the position. The image must have 3 parts arranged vertically - normal, hot, and pressed.

Okay, I will try.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi, Ivo,

First of all thank you for the nice software.

Secondly, I would like to join the request, let me explain the details.
I use Win8Pro 64x, and your CS, WinXP Classic.
When having wide display, 1600/900 it is good to save the room on sides, so I moved the taskbar to the left.
However, I am used to have Start Button in the left bottom corner, probably like most of Win users, as I saw tens of PCs of my friends.
When I switch the taskbar to the left, Start Button goes up high.
It would be really convenient to have the option to leave it down, where it usually is but on the taskbar switched to the left. I think more and more people use wide displays, and some of them can move taskbar as well.
I know how much space I saved since I moved open charts in Opera to the left.

If you cannot implement this maybe you could give some advices how to tweak it.

Best,
Pref

Here I have just found something for Win7:

But I definitely would love to save registry for one software tweaking all of this.

Well, it's for Win7, and I do not want to risk checking.
That would be fantastic if all of this would be in one.

By default on Win7 Classic Shell uses the standard button. So there is a chance this utility will work.
