Can I use ClassicShell to change my start button, but not the start menu?

I'm on Windows 10, and the start button is way too small!

So, is there a way to just change the icon with ClassicShell?

Thanks!

Yes. Check the option "Replace Start Button" and pick an image of your choice. There are many Start buttons in our forum: viewforum.php?f=18

To continue using the Windows 10 Start Menu, open Classic Start Menu settings, check Show all settings checkbox at the top. Then go to the 'Controls' tab and set "Left click opens" and "Windows key opens" to "Windows Start Menu".

Okay, so I have done as you said, and it doesn't work very well.

Left clicking does not open any start menu, even though it is set to open the Windows Start Menu.

And right clicking does not open the Win+X menu, even though it is supposed to.

Maybe you accidentally set the option "Left Click opens:" to Nothing, instead of 'Windows Start Menu'

And are you sure you have 'Right Click opens Win+X Hotkey:' checked?

Otherwise we may have to do a little troubleshooting..
If you set it to open classic start menu does it work?
does the windows key, or shift+win open anything
does right clicking the button bring up classic shell settings?

It worked fine to start off with, then I changed the settings listed above, and it stopped.

It was all set correctly, I double checked that. I did a little more reading, and I'm going to try the beta 4.2.2.

Okay, in 4.2.2, it works as I would like it to. Thanks for your help!

For Windows 10, you should use the latest Classic Shell which is 4.2.3 as of now.
