Hi,
I don't know if this is ClassicShell related or not but I'm starting out here to see if it is.
In the past few days, I have not been able to do that Windows 8.1 thing of hovering over the bottom right hand side of the screen to bring up the Control Panel and the other Charms. Always have in the past since I bought this PC over a year ago. Also, I have lost the ability to hit X to close a PDF document - hovering on the top right doesn't bring it up any more. I am wondering if a recent MS update has overridden my ClassicShell features, or if this has nothing to do with ClassicShell whatsoever and I should look elsewhere. I should note that I cannot open the Charms Bar from the Windows App-style screen either, although hitting the Windows key plus C opens it up OK. Does this sound anything like something I can fix in ClassicShell or is it completely unrelated? Thanks for considering. Hoges

Open Classic Start Menu Settings. Check "Show All Settings" and go to "Windows 8.1 Settings" tab. Set disable active corners option to "Start screen". Make sure it is not set to "All". Then you will be able to use the Charms bar and the X to close apps. If changing this setting has no effect, then something else is wrong with your Windows 8.1 because Classic Shell does not affect the Modern UI in any other way.
