There is an irritating delay when I press the winlogo key on the keyboard. Then the classic start menu comes out. I start tyoing for exmaple "snipping" but nothing happens. Like the input box is not focused and you cant enter any text. this happens only if I make it fast. If I press winlogo, wait a second and then start typing, it works fine. Is there any way to fix the problem? |

Are you using the classic or the Windows 7 style? |

That was "classic with two columns". Now switched to "Windows 7 Style". Again try typing "snipping" and get "nipping" in the search box |

By default the classic styles have a fade animation. During the animation it is possible for keys to get lost. You can turn it off from the Menu Look tab in the settings. Look for a setting called "Main menu animation". |

I tried to disable all animations and even changing delays for submenus |

The taskbar is an important detail, and may be the reason I was unable to reproduce the problem |

I got the idea only today Now tried disabling taskbar animations in Widows setting but the taskbar still shows with animation. Seems I have to change my habbits or get used to this annoying feature. Or downgrade to Windows 7 |

Not sure if it's the same as the OP's issue, but I've noticed a small delay when first opening the Classic Start Menu (via Win button or mouse). I can hardly notice it in the Classic style but the other two will delay noticeably more. Is there a way around this? I couldn't find a relevant setting (the delay setting for sub-menus does work great). |

Are you saying classic with 2 column delays but classic doesn't? did you add anything to the menu other than switching it around, its possible something new connects to a network resource? |

@MenuPeak, try unchecking the option "Show recent Metro apps" on the Main Menu tab and see if the delay goes away. |
