Hey guys, the classic shell start menu is an awesome thing! I'm wondering if you (creators) can help me or assist me because you guys seem to be talented. I'd like to show my machine name in the taskbar, for example like this: ![]() I looked at the source code of the classic shell menu but wasn't able to find out how I could accomplish this by myself. I dont want to add a toolbar whatsoever, I would like to add it somehow programmaticaly.. Any help appreciated! ![]() |

The only way Classic Shell modifies the Taskbar is by adding a Start button+menu to it. It doesn't add other items to the Taskbar. But you can use the tooltip of the Start button to show the machine name. Go to Classic Start Menu settings. Check "Show all settings" and go to the "Start button" tab. In the "Button tooltip" setting, enter %computername% and click OK. When you hover over the Start button with the mouse, you will see the computer name. |
