Is there a way to put search box and shutdown menu on the very top of the start menu? If not, where do I post such request?

In the Classic style (the one you are currently using) you can rearrange the menu items in any order you wish. Go to the Customize Start Menu tab in the settings. Use drag and drop to order the menu items in the left column. You cannot move the user picture. It is not a menu item but is part of the skin. You can hide it though - go to the Skin tab and uncheck "Show user picture". |

thanks shutdown I managed to get it up, also removed the picture but I can't get the search box go way up, it only goes above Programs. |

Ah, that's right. The search can't go above the pinned and the recently used programs. That's because the list of programs needs room to grow. If you are OK with a fixed list of programs, enter them manually as fixed menu items and remove the pinned and recent programs completely. |
