Since installing Classic Shell, which works great by the way, a cold boot no longer displays anything until the desktop appears. Is this normal? Can it be changed back to a normal boot sequence for Windows 8? Thanks all for any help. |

Windows 8 by default uses a hybrid shutdown. It boots faster but shows less stuff during the boot. If you want to do a full shutdown, hold down Shift while shutting down or uncheck the "Enable hybrid shutdown" setting in the Main Menu tab. In the latest beta version 4.2.0 it will also be disabled if you disable "fast boot" in the Windows power management settings. |
