Some programs that I use (and therefore their files) do not appear in the Start Jump list. However, the files do appear in the Recent Items.

The programs that do appear on the Start List are all the MS Office programs whereas, those that do not appear are programs that I installed (correctly) and which registered in the system registry.

Is there a way to get these non appearing programs in the Start jump list?

Many thanks.

Is it that the programs don't appear in the start menu, or that the documents don't show up in their jumplists?

Facetious1531 probably means that his programs don't show up in the Frequent list. But the files show up in the Recent Documents list.

@Facetious1531, right click the Taskbar -> Properties. Go to the 2nd tab and uncheck "Store recently opened programs". Click Apply, then check it again and click OK. This will clear/reset the Frequent list. Now your most frequently used programs will show up in the list.
