Classic Shell expands menus UP which I don't want...

How do I make the menus expand centered/middle? In example...

If there is room to fully expand up or down, the menu will do so. Only when that's not possible, it will try to expand both ways. That's standard menu behavior.

There is an "Open up" option for menu items. Can't we have an "Open down" option too which would open menus touching the bottom edge of the screen? Given that the Start button for most users is always on the bottom left, menus touching the bottom edge means less mouse distance to travel.

Not checking "Open up" means "Open down". The menu will first try to fit down, then to fit up, and if all fails, will put it in the middle like on the second picture.

Then IMHO it should be tweaked such that it tries first to fit down, then center, and then fit up. Because the Start button is at the bottom. Just a suggestion. :)

Why not simply have a drop-down select menu with the three options instead?

Yes that would be great too if Ivo is open to expanding that setting.

I think the middle setting occurs when the top setting would meet the same trigger as when the bottom trigger occurs.

I've played around with various things like sort by codes for the Windows Explorer toolbar, wish I was advanced enough with Microsoft products to make a more meaningful contribution to customization.
