I'm using the latest ClassicShell on Windows Server 2012 R2. I've added these three reg values to HKLM\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ClassicShell [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ClassicShell] "EnableStartButton"=dword:00000001 "SkipMetro"=dword:00000001 "StartButtonType"="ClasicButton" But it's not taking effect. Users are getting the default settings regardless. I also tried creating the key 'ClassicStartMenu' in HKLM\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ and putting the values in there, same results. Any suggestions? |

The start button settings should work if they are placed in HKLM\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu The SkipMetro setting doesn't work in the registry on Server 2012 R2. That's because it is a built-in Windows setting. |

Hmm for some reason none of them stuck. I ended up going with the Policy Definitions method and that worked though. |

No, that's not it. The setting is misspelled in code. It is too late to fix now because it will break the existing settings. |

You must restart the menu after you add the relevant keys to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu |
