Hi, Would a skin for ver 3.9 work well in ver 4.1 ? If not, is there a lot to fix / address? Thanks, M |

Version 3.9.0 is the beta version of Classic Shell 4.x so a skin made for 3.9.x should work but some minor new features and bug fixes which are continuously made in later versions of Classic Shell won't work. In 4.0 RTM and later, there were some skin related minor changes. • Most skin bitmaps (like the user frame) now support masks and can be tinted with the glass color • The settings in the skins are localized (and their tooltips) • Improved support for high resolution and high DPI displays. These are not very huge changes to affect your older skin but you might want to bring your skin up-to-date by recreating it using the skins from the latest version as the base. But it will work even without updating. Version 3.6.x skins should also work in the Classic style but there were MANY additions to skins from 3.6.x to 3.9.0/4.0. |
