We installed Classic Shell 3.6.1 last year with Win 8.0. Everything worked. We upgraded to Win 8.1 and now the start button does not respond at all. We want to uninstall Classic Shell. We are concerned about step 3 in the uninstall steps. We don't see the Classic Shell Windows Explorer so we don't have a way to confirm that the toolbar is hidden. Is this a problem or do we go ahead and uninstall? Thank you for your time and consideration. Wayne PS Win 8.1 gives us all the functions we need so we are not planning to upgrade Classic Shell at this time. |

The problem with the menu bar when uninstalling Classic Shell only concerns Windows 7. You are good to go. I should probably update the documentation... If you later change your mind and want to install Classic Shell again, keep in mind that the earliest version that supports Windows 8.1 is 3.6.8. For best results use the latest version 4.1.0. |
