I have been using Classic Shell a few months, now, and I am as happy as Farful (sic), the dog puppet used by Paul Winchel in his Saturday morning cartoon show, sponsored by Nestle's Chocolate. The jingle would go "N...E...S...T...L...E...S Nestle's makes the very best. (And Farful would say with his goofy sounding voice, "Choc.....late!!" And his mouth would snap closed with a very audible "pop!" And Paul would say, "How does that make you feel, Farful?" Farful would reply, "It makes me very happy!"

Seriously, were it not for finding Classic Shell, I probably would have abandoned Win 8. I had tried several of the posted remedies for getting Win 8 to default to the desktop. Most of them worked, sort of, but none of them had the start button. And most of them would get wiped out by the next update. Since finding and installing your Classic Shell updates are not a problem, and simply re-installing got me past the upgrade from win8 to 8.1. I have recommended Classic Shell to everyone I know. And 3 of them have reported back to me that they installed and use it without any problems at all. When they thank me, I remind them that it is you who deserves the praise, and that a donation would be the best form of praise that they could show.
Even though I only use Win 8 on rare occasions, and it is installed as a virtual machine using Virtual Box on my Linux Mint 16 host, I still recommend it to all I know.
Thank you again for this amazing product!

And I would have abandoned Windows 7 :-)
