First of all, Classic shell is amazing

Second: I have noticed some strange behavior in regards to library's in the start menu.
After much searching for a solution/fix, i have resolved to make a last ditch effort by posting here.

Library's in the start menu are combining the content of all their folders

here are some screenshots to 'hopefully' explain the problem:

This is the behavior when using the default windows 7 start menu

And this is what happens in classic start menu

There is of course a way around this, create your own 'library's' using a normal folder and some symlinks, however as far as integration goes that is not a pretty solution

I am unsure if this is the intended behavior or not, would it be possible to add an option for changing this behavior?

PS: my task bar/default windows 7 start menu look slightly different to the default, because i am using a windows 8 theme
PPS: my classic start menu looks ugly, I am having difficulty getting it to look the way i want, but first i want to get this behavior working correctly, then i can continue obsessing over the looks
PPPS: Protip - create a library called programs containing program files & program files(x86) (and another install location on another drive if used)

Well, some users may want a unified menu since Libraries are supposed to aggregate multiple locations. In fact, in Explorer, if you turn off grouping inside any Library (Group By None), then it shows the same way as the menu.

If you use the Classic style (which supports sub-items), you can easily get the behavior you want. Go to the Customize Start Menu tab. Add a custom item and in its Link field specify the path to the Library (e.g. %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries\Music.library-ms). Check the "Don't expand" option. Now add more custom items below it and add the folders inside the libraries.

Windows 7 style at the moment does not support sub-items.

Thankyou for the quick response GauravK, I understand that not everyone would want/need this behavior in a windows 7 style start menu (which I must admit I am now very fond of).

Due to the nature of this I was unsure as to where it belonged (bug report/feature request)

I was already aware of the ability to set this up using sub items in the classic style, but thanks for pointing it out :)

I am not 100% sure sub items in the 7 style menu is actually what i need, its more a case of the ability to change the way library's behave in the 7 style menu.
Perhaps a bool option along the lines of 'merge library folders in menus' would be more like it

would you recommend I create a thread in the feature requests section? (or hope and pray a kind moderator will move this for me?)
