Now that MS have brought back the Start button in 8.1 there are actually some useful selections when right-clicking the thing. Can Classic Start possibly be added as a "Classic Start Settings" menu item or sub-menu in the native Windows 8.1 Start button right-click menu to retain functionality of the new options added to Windows?

Though I like the ability to log off through Classic Start's Menu the ability is right there in the native 8.1 right-click menu too. Along with launching a powershell/cmd window if needed, control panel, a lot less that an admin would need pinned to keep things tidy. If I leave the Aero themed button you can kind of still hit the 8.1 menu by right-clicking outside of the circle. If you do not replace the button to keep the default 8.1 appearance then there is no way to get at the native right-click menu. I do like that you can nearly get rid of the right-click menu but it should be able to be disabled completely since there is a shortcut to get to Classic Start's Settings from outside of Classic Start.

You can:
  • Hold down Shift while right-clicking on the start button
  • Turn on the setting "Right click opens the Windows context menu"
  • Press Win+X

You can also customize the Win+X menu using Win+X Menu Editor: http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.30

The command line you can use to open Classic Start Menu settings is:
"C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe" -settings

You can add this as a shortcut using Win+X Menu Editor.
