| Post subject: | Lag after booting |
When I reboot Windows it takes up to two minutes for the start menu to respond. I am using version 4.0.4 on Windows 7 32bit. The machine is a few years old but still has plenty of power. 4GB of RAM. I have been using older versions of this program for several years with no problem. I tried the suggestion to un-check pre-caching of icons, but saw no difference. I tried un-installing and re-installing, no effect. What should I try next. Would going back to an older version help? I could try 4.0.0 or the last of the 3 series. When I re-installed I was surprised that all my settings were remembered. I just read that that is normal. If I go back to a 3 series will that cause problems? If my problem is gone I can just set it to not check for updates. Thanks in advance. I could not put up with Windows without your program. |
