I have my Control Panel set to cascade (can't stand the way M$ alphabetized the CP horizontally!) and I noticed the sub menu is not skinned. Is this a bug?

I also noticed the Control Panel menu speed is not the same as the menu speed set in MenuShowDelay.

This looks like the default Windows 7 menu, not Classic Shell.

I just confirmed this again with Classic Shell 4.0.2 on my laptop running Windows 7 x64. Cascading Control Panel menu is not skinned and MenuShowDelay settings do not apply. There is approximately 1 second delay for the Control Panel menu to appear.

*edit* - I am using the Smoked skin on both my desktop and laptop.

Classic Shell only controls the All Programs cascading menu. It doesn't affect any other sub-menus in the default Windows 7 menu.

If you want a Windows 7-looking menu where you can adjust skins and timing of sub-menus, you need to upgrade to the latest version 4.0.2. It has a style that is very similar to the Windows 7 menu but you get a lot more customization settings.

Thank you for replying.

I'm going through the settings (v4.0.2) one by one on my laptop but I can't find the setting that would affect the speed of the Control Panel cascade. I've also tried searching the forums and Google and there doesn't seem to be a setting for the Control Panel display speed.

Again, you need to be using the Classic Shell menu (with the Windows 7), not the native Windows 7 menu.
Then the hover delay will control all sub-menus, including the Control Panel. There is no separate setting specifically for the Control Panel.

Right click the Start button -> Settings and go to the Controls tab. There you can configure which menu opens - the Windows menu or the Classic Start Menu. Set 'Left click opens' and 'Windows key opens' to Classic Start Menu, click OK to save settings, thereafter the classic one will open. You will still be able to access the Windows menu with Shift+Win key.

To change the skin of the Classic menu, you need to go to the "Skin" tab. The tab called "All Programs Skin" changes the skin on the Windows 7 Start Menu.

Got it, thanks GauravK.

And big thanks to Ivo for this amazing program, a few years ago I was looking for something to show the total size in a folder's status bar and a tweak to show total file size after highlighting more than 15 files and I discovered ClassicShell. Been a long time user and donator, keep up the great work guys!
