Hi. I am running windows 8.1 on a hp desktop pavilion 23 & have downloaded classic shell 4.0.2. I cannot open the "classic start menu settings". When I press the classic start settings, the classic start settings screen appears & then disappears followed by the whole desktop screen turning blue for a few seconds, then the desktop screen reappears for a few seconds. The desktop screen just keeps going blue & then reappearing until I go to task manager & turn off classic shell. A couple of other things I have noticed are: I have no classic shell start button on the screen & when I open the control panel, it opens for a few seconds before disappearing & then the whole desktop going blue & reappearing, as mentioned above, starts. The problem continues after reboot, repair and reinstall. Do you have any suggestions as to what I need to do to fix this? |

This appears to be a crash. Follow the instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6 and capture a crash dump (a couple if possible). Then attach them here. |
