I have noticed an issue with 3.6.8 and I'm not sure if it's resolved in the RCs, but I'll bring it up in case there is a fix/workaround. I have installed Classic Shell 3.6.8 on a Windows 2012 RDP server. I have everything configured using the HKLM options so that settings apply to all users. My problem is that when a user logons on the server for the first time (profile will be created), it takes about 45-60 seconds with Classic Shell installed. This is timed from the last "applying user settings/group policy messages" to when I can see and interact with the desktop. So between those two, I get about 45-60 seconds of blank screen--no desktop, no start menu, taskbar, etc. If I uninstall Classic Shell, delete the profile and try again, the time between user settings/gpo's being applied and seeing the Metro desktop (which it defaults to if no classic shell is present) is about 3-5 seconds. What could be causing this long delay to create a profile for the first time? I will test with some of the RCs to see if the problems persists in the meantime. |

Yes, this was reported before and the first time slow logon issue is gone in Classic Shell 3.9.x: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1096 |
