Post subject:  Pin to Start not working

Hi, Not sure if it is a bug or a feature. :)

Win8, win7-Start Menu format, Firefox Portable on drive D:

At win8 start up, drive D: may not be available as it is a USB drive. With the drive mounted, I navigated to the Firefox Portable Folder on drive D: and clicked "FirefoxPortable.exe" then right-click followed by a "Pin to Start" click.

Nothing on the Start menu. Thought it might need a reboot so did that, still nothing on the menu.

Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to pin to Start if the target drive is not the C: drive? Or what?

Thanks

"Pin to Start" actually pins to the start screen, which is not part of Classic Shell.
If you are using the latest beta version 3.9.5 there will be an additional command "Pin to Start Menu (Classic Shell)". Even then, you may get weird behavior if D: is not accessible when you log in because the target exe will be missing.

You can download the latest beta from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/latestbeta It will allow to Pin to Start *Menu*. When your D drive is mounted, you can use the pinned program again.

Thanks, I am ahead of but only just. :) I did some more reading after posting that and found the RC version mentioned in another thread so installed it.

As suggested the "Pin to Start Menu (Classic Shell)" works just as I needed it to.

Great addition to win8 and after a little more testing I am sure I will be donating to help support your efforts. I have yet to test the "Skip Metro screen" but will do so right after posting this.

Thanks
