Hi, just want to say I love the Classic Shell and it makes W8 much more usable in work. I also recently installed W8.1 Enterprise Preview on a fresh W8 machine, with any Classic Shell. I saw the new 8.1 "Start Menu", and not too impressed as it just flips back to the Metro Tiles start screen.
However, when I installed Classic Shell Start Menu it replaced the 8.1 "start menu" with the Classic one. Mostly a good thing, but is it possible for the two to co-exist on the taskbar? It may be useful to have a means of accessing the Metro tiles quickly.

I know you can use the "charms" menu on the right of the screen to get to it, but that can be a bit of hassle, especially for non-touch enabled devices. Thanks!

Shift+click on the Start button or Shift+Win key opens the Start screen. You can configure that from Start Menu Settings and change what key opens which menu/screen. In the latest beta of Classic Shell (you can install it from the home page), there is also an item inside the menu to go to the Start screen for users who don't discover Shift+click.

Thanks. I notice Windows key+C will give you the Charm menu which then allows access to the Metro tiles desktop. However, I'd ideally like the have a Classic Shell Start Menu, but also a shortcut to allow quick access to the Metro tiles desktop

From Start Menu Settings, you can assign a hotkey of your choice for the Start screen. Look for the setting called "Additional Start screen hotkey". Or you can simply create a shortcut as follows:

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe" -togglenew

and pin it to the taskbar to directly open the Start screen if Shift is not suitable.

If you download the latest beta: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/latestbeta, you can just right click the Start screen shortcut inside the menu and do 'Pin to Taskbar'.
