I corrupted an upgrade to 4.3.0 and it would not install.
I successfully uninstalled CS.
But CS 4.3.0 will still not install.
I get the error: Module C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicExplorer32.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024891. Contact your support personnel.

Help!

What antivirus software do you have? Some people reported that it might be blocking the registration of the Classic Shell DLLs.

I run Kaspersky Internet Security 16.01....
I've been running both KIS and Classic Shell for years without a problem until now.

The install just completed successfully!

After reporting the problem a week or so ago, I have installed various Win 10, etc. upgrades and rebooted several times.
Still no success installing this morning. I received the same error.

So I paused KIS virus protection and ran Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter: http://aka.ms/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
It did not list CS, so I ran it with 'program is not listed'. The Troubleshooter found an fixed errors.

Then I closed Firefox, and ran the CS upgrade again. It completed the install very quickly.

BTW, I run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware also, and did not close or pause it before the installation.
All is well again. :-)
