[Google Translator]

Hello,

I have two PCs with Windows 8.1. Classic Shell 4.1.0 and 4.2.0 I have tried.
I have network folder added to the Windows libraries.
When I use the search field in the Classic Start Menu, no files are found in the library.
In the search box from Windows Explorer or the Windows Home (Metro) it works.
Can you help me ?

many Greetings
McLarenMc

The start menu only searches the indexed files because it needs to be very fast. Windows Explorer searches all files.
Go to Explorer, then to your user folder, then Searches. Double-click on "Indexed Locations". Try to search for your files then. If they are not found, it means they are not being indexed.

Hi!
The Start menu search of Win7 and Win8.1 automatically scan the files from the server. The folders are simply inserted only in the libraries of the client.

The Windows Server indexes the files and Windows 7 and 8.1 automatically use the index of the server.

Unfortunately it does not work with Classic Shell. :-(

But did you test using the Indexed Locations search connector? That's what the start menu is using.

Please excuse me. Google can not correctly translate your text.
Can you describe it differently?

Alternatively, I use Windows key+S for the search.

Open this folder in Explorer: %USERPROFILE%\Searches\Indexed Locations.search-ms
Type the file name in the Search box. See if your files are found.

They won't be found in 'Indexed locations.search-ms' if they are on the network. Windows 7 does not index network files even if they are added to a Library. Instead it searches network files in real-time if the following Registry tweak is made:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SearchPlatform\Preferences]
"EnableSearchingSlowLibrariesInStartMenu"=dword:00000001

On Windows 8 (Win+S), this tweak is not required. It searches network folders added to a Library in real-time. Some other settings from Explorer Folder Options -> Search tab may also affect the results.

Classic Start Menu does not have this ability as of version 4.2.x.
