Edit: This beta build link is now obsolete. A newer beta can be downloaded from: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/latestbeta

There is a new version available for download: http://www.classicshell.net/files/beta/ ... _3_9_0.exe
The search for files has been completely rewritten. Now it is faster and produces results much closer to the Windows 7 menu (some features do not fully work on Windows 8.1)
  • All binaries are digitally signed
  • Potential fix for the menu getting locked after a drag/drop operation on Windows 8.1. The fix is to temporarily hide the menu if a confirmation is required and then reshow it
  • Potential fix for the skin corruption on Windows 8.1

As before, if you are using an older 3.9.0 build you will have to uninstall it manually.

But if click while confirmation shown on danger zone of start button - menu has been unlocked and after confirmation it no reshow.

Yet if uninstall CS beta without manual exiting before (in 8.1) - then uninstall try close explorer and explorer no start after uninstalling even via task manager - need Alt+F4 & Logoff.

What exactly is the sequence you are doing? Maybe I missed a case where the two problems overlap.

Try the attached patch (64-bit only and 3.9.0 beta only - later version incorporate the fix from this DLL).
Exit the start menu, replace the file ClassicStartMenuDLL.dll with the attached file, then restart ClassicStartMenu.exe
Let me know if it works.

The menu is opening after prompt dialog closes but it is being closed immediately by the copy transfer progress dialog.
