Does anyone know of a Mac/Macintosh-styled skin for a Start Menu?
I know Mac doesn't have a Start Menu but I figured there would be one out there that's Mac-styled.
If anyone finds one, tell me.

Thanks!

If there isnt one in this forum, it likely doesn't exist. However, it sounds like something that should :P, Are you looking for an over-all mac themed menu, or something similar to its menu that is compact and icon-free

Just anything that looks like Mac. I'm not gonna use the Classic Skin, because that's just, well, ugh.

Uh.. correct me if Im wrong, but

Looks quite similar to, the classic skin with 1 column, no captions and 'use small icons', and 'solid color selection' checked
(however if you have any nitpicks, feel free to mention them)

If you want something else entirely, I've got no idea what it would look like. Maybe a polished silver background with an apple logo 'embedded' into it?
I'm asking because if you can paint a good enough picture, I might be obliged to create you one... (but as it stands, I have no idea what exactly you want)

Here are some observations about OS X:
- Font was Lucida Grande 14 pt or bold/semibold? In OS X Yosemite onwards, it is some font from Helvetica Neue family
- The rich blue selection appears to be a gradient, not a solid color
- Font smoothing/rendering is obviously different but Windows and Classic Shell can't have that without third party apps

You can have Mac font rendering in Windows and Classic Shell using Mac Type: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/make-windo ... mac-fonts/

Good enough for me. Anything that can make it feel like Mac. The Classic Skin idea hasn't worked out for me.

Ok, next question(s): plain/shiny/textured, and flat or 3d?

Also whats your take on the rounded edge in this skin:
http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1949
In my opinion something like this with a nice metallic texture might look good.

Also because I'm not going to be including all the options a standard skin has (because that takes more time) I would like to know a few pre-sets

Do you plan on using the user-name
Howabout user picture?
Are you using the windows 7 style, classic, or classic with 2 columns?
Will you be using icons?
Small text?
Caption? (Only applicable to classic with 1 column)

Ive attached a zipped folder with a bunch of textures I found on google, Pick 1-3 textures, and a logo for the background

(just post the # I put as its file-name)

Well, I tried. Is this anything akin to what you're looking for? I'm not an Apple user myself, so I apologize if it doesn't quite match the look or feel. If you have any suggestions, I'll see what I can do. There are a few minor bugs, such as the fact that the caption just won't go away for some reason, but AFAIK it's usable. Also, I tried to add 2-column support, but that didn't end well IMO. You need to see for yourself.

Now, enough pointless words, here's the whole package: http://www.mediafire.com/download/o08qd5s8xuiabb1/AppleMonocolumn.zip

EDIT: It seems Jcee submitted his skin whilst I was making mine. Let's see whose skin wins xD

Sorry for not replying so long.
@SplitWires I like it, the only problem is, I'm confused on how to get that ICO working.
@Jcee OK, here's my answers:
Ok, next question(s): plain/shiny/textured, and flat or 3d? A: Shiny

Also whats your take on the rounded edge in this skin:

Do you plan on using the user-name? A: No
Howabout user picture? A: No

Will you be using icons? A: No
Small text? :No

#10 for texture and logo.

Hi MisterMoo.
You must be the first person who ever did not want icons.:)
That is very easy to turn off in Classic Shell menu settings, under the "Menu look" tab.
Just change the "Small icon size" and "Large icon size" to 0
Exit CSM, restart CSM.
Now there won't be any icons on main, or submenus, on any skin.

I know you want Jcee to help make your ultimate shiny skin,
but Splitwirez one looks quite Applelish for the mean time.
I'm using it now.
Just needs font changed to semibold, and the split button fixed.

Hey Splitwirez.
I didn't even notice the caption was showing until now, cuz of my bad eyes.
It was because the slices needed to be under a two column header thingy.
For single column without caption, the slices need the 0,0,0, at the start to tell CSM to turn off caption.
I fixed the minor bugs in your skin, and shrunk the file.

I included the bold Lucida Grande font in the zip. My system font folder never had it.
It looks so anti MS, when the icons are turned off in CSM settings.

Good job on your unique border. :)
Let me know if I'm overstepping, and I will delete it.

I get it, you know. I actually used Splitwirez' one. Then my laptop crashed. (not because of the skin)
But thanks for changing dem fonts there.
