Is this something that Classic Shell could do? I'd like to control the minimum pixel separation between minimised windows on the taskbar, as well as between the start button and the first minimised window. After googling, it seems there is a registry tweak to do the first thing, but it has never actually worked for me. Ideally, I want the separation between them to be 3 pixels, like it was on Vista and earlier versions. I'm using the classic theme on Windows 7. Just wondering if any of this is even feasible. In theory maybe.. however classic shell doesn't try to touch such things... (even if it were in active development) you might be interested in 7+ taskbar tweaker: http://rammichael.com/7-taskbar-tweaker Which already has a feature that messes with the space for taskbar items. If it currently doesn't meet your needs, maybe request the feature from there |

Alternatively, Start9's Taskbar offerings could easily provide such options. Start9 isn't exactly ready for day-to-day use as of yet, though, so atleast for the moment, Jcee's solution would definitely be the way to go IMO. |

Thanks for the replies. I actually already have posted this question on the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker site, but haven't gotten a reply there yet. Can you tell me more about Start9? |

Start9 is a modular, extensible shell supplement thing I and others have been working on. It's not exactly ready for day-to-day use, but we're getting there.
