As someone who actually uses a few store apps (overdrive & other e-readers, lastpass) having access to my list of apps in classic shell is very convenient. However There's 30 apps listed there, and I only need access to 10 of them (of which, Settings, Windows Store, and Calculator are the only ones that are built-in). Compared to the image at the bottom of this post, a list with only the 10 apps I use would be far nicer (not to mention easier to open with the keyboard with to only 1-2 apps per letter). Given that uninstalling apps I don't use has no effect (they just get re-added in later updates) it would be nice to filter out the apps I don't use. This should be fairly simple--simply add a 'hide' shortcut to the icon.

A second point is that the ability to rename apps would also be useful - I like having a small start menu (part of the reason I first started using classic shell), and there's really no reason for an app to be named OverDrive - Library eBooks & Audiobooks instead of simply Overdrive or Microsoft Solitaire Collection instead of simply Solitaire--Similar offenders in the Programs folder can be simply changed, then new copies deleted when updated, but you *can't* do this with Apps, since the names are part of their manifests, which are read-only.

As it is right now, the apps folder in my start menu currently looks like this (used apps highlighted):

You may replace the Apps list with a custom folder, where you place links to the apps you want to see. You can name the shortcuts whatever you want.

Right click on any app and choose "Create shortcut". Allow Windows to create a shortcut to the app on the Desktop. You can cut and paste all these shortcuts into one folder, rename them as you want. Then go to Customize Start Menu tab. Double click the "Apps" item and remove everything from the "Command" field. Then type or copy-paste the path to the folder of shortcuts you created in the "Link" field of the Apps item. Voila, you have a new apps folder with only the apps you use and the rest hidden.
