In Windows 7, holding control and clicking the "Up" button would open the parent folder in a new window. In Windows 8/8.1, holding control and clicking the "Up" button opens the parent folder in the same window (not a new window). As a workaround, I've been adding the "Up" button to the Classic Explorer toolbar. (It still honors the control+click command properly.) However, it'd be nice if the "Up" button next to the address bar could maintain this behavior as well. |

Up button in the address bar is not added by Classic Shell on Windows 8 and above so this is not possible. So use the Up button on the Classic Explorer toolbar. |
