I use AVG virus protection.
When I reinstalled Classic Shell I got an error msg saying that
AVG found the INSTALLCORE adware in CLASSIC SHELL.

Can you explain why you would be running this ADWARE program in Classic Shell? :o

There is no adware in Classic Shell. Please provide a screenshot of the exact error you get, so I can contact AVG about it.

Also, please answer the following questions:
1) Where did you download Classic Shell from?
2) If you look at the installer properties, do you see a digital signature and what is it?
3) Did AVG trigger before, during, or after the installation?

Yes please state the exact web site from which you downloaded Classic Shell.

1) I downloaded CS over a year ago, and believe I would have downloaded it from your website.
2) I did not see any properties when I just reinstalled it.
3) It did not trigger when I just re-downloaded and installed CS. But, when I got the msg earlier I beleive I got it during the install.

If you not in the AVG attached screenshot of their virus vault, it came from programs within the TaskBarSpinner.zip folder. I don't know where that came from, unless it came from your website. But I do note the download time stamp was 3-months after I downloaded classic shell 4.1.0.

Well you can be 100% sure that any adware is *not* distributed by Classic Shell's installer. As long as you download it from http://www.classischell.net and not http://www.classicshell.com or any other site, your PC should not get adware from Classic Shell.

The adware on your PC came from somewhere else.

Looks like the alert is for this file: m:\_F_Download_Bakup\_Download - Compter\Classic Shell\Free_Pinner_Download_Setup.exe
It is not part of Classic Shell. It is possible you just placed that pinner tool in the folder named "Classic Shell".

Nope, I looked at ClassicShell.com, and did not get it from them.
Do you know where I could have gotten TaskBarSpinner.zip, which I have in my ClassicShell download folder, where I store my files BEFORE installing them?

No idea. It is your Downloads folder, you should know where you got the file :)
The Classic Shell installer is just a single EXE. Anything else you have in that folder is unrelated software.

I think I'm going crazy!
Now to figure out what the other files are, and why I downloaded them to that folder.
Thanks for your help

There is also a ClassicShellUtility.exe file. have you heard of it before?
I've attached its text file, in case it is not one of yours, but is mimicking your program.
I am at a loss as to where all these programs came from?
Dan

Yes, the Classic Shell utility is mine. When people have problems I ask them to download it and send me the output text file.
