I i'm using classic shell from the beginning of my switch to win 7, i hate the new menu style.

From Windows Vista and up there is a new file rename behaviour.

* Context:
I have activated the option to see file extensions.
When i want to rename a file i press F2, or right click on the file and choose "rename"

* What happens:
- Old style (Win XP):
Windows automatically selects the whole file name

- New style (Win Vista and up):
Windows automatically selects only the first part of the file name excluding the extension.

As M$ doesn't defined an option to choose a preferred behaviour between the two described above, i would like to choose a dafault behaviuor.
Do you think it is possible with Classic Shell ??

Thank you

Try this AutoHotkey compiled EXE script I made. Just run the EXE and create a shortcut in your Startup folder if you want.

To return to Vista-like behavior, just terminate "XP-like F2 Behavior.exe" from Task Manager's list of processes.
