Hello all. Thank you for the privilege of posting here, as well as the opportunity to partake in this great program. I've been lurking for awhile, but have now decided to install. Please tell me- for those of us installing on Win7, would we be better off using an older version? I do notice a few bugs(with all due respect). Do those of us using Win7 need the latest version? Is there an older version that's stable for Win7 installations, yet lacks any potential instability/complexity issues recently coded for use only with Win8 & up? The reason for asking is I have seen older versions of "*" sometimes work better with older versions of Windows. Just go ahead and reassure me and indicate that with each revision(not including betas), there are continuing bug fixes applicable to Win7 as well, and Win7 installations will not suffer bloat or unintended complexity by using the latest version. Thanks |

I would say go with the latest version; sometimes bugs do emerge when fixing something for another OS, but overall I would say that the program gains stability, and features with time.. and yes, if a bug is found for windows 7; it is still fixed if possible Now if you were going with vista, you would have to use an older version, because classic shell has dropped vista support. (but I don't foresee it dropping windows 7 support for quite a while) |

Jcee, Thanks so much for the prompt reply. (And yeah, Win7 is the next XP isn't it? I can see I'll be holding out just like XP. I love Win7.) Thank y'all for everything. |

Yep; it seems that every other OS seems to hit it big; windows 98, xp, and 7 were all seen as the creme de la crepe. whereas 95, 2000, vista, and 8 have all been poorly received by the masses.. That said, I quite enjoyed vista (it was simply released ahead of its time), and windows 8 isnt so bad once you install classic shell... |

Please use the latest version as it includes numerous fixes and enhancements for Windows 7 too. |
