When opening explorer folders, frequently the selected folder is out of view in the folder pane. I suspect this is unfixable, but if it can be automatically scrolled to show the current folder in the view whenever the file pane view changes, that would be cool.

More importantly, and somewhat relevant. In windows XP, when you opened a folder in the file pane, it would automatically expand the parent in the folder pane. (for example, if you open c:\, the folder pane shows documents & settings, program files, etc). Newer versions of windows (8.1 at least, I think 7 as well) don't do this. Is it possible to implement this?

Go to Folder Options Control Panel of Windows and on the General tab, check the option "Automatically expand to current folder".

Also, in Classic Explorer Settings -> check 'Show all settings' and go to the Navigation Pane tab. Make sure that "Fix folder scrolling" is checked.

I have no such option available.

...Never mind. Apparently I shouldn't use the built-in updater for update checks.

The "Fix folder scrolling" setting only shows up for Windows 7 because the bug that it fixes is already fixed in Windows 8.

The built-in update doesn't yet work because the update to 4.2.1 is not yet enabled. It will be turned on in the next few days. I want to make sure there are no serious issues with the new version before I roll it out to everyone.

That explains why it's not there after the update too. Thanks for fixing (or telling me if someone else fixed it)!
