This relates to Classic Explorer.
Some years ago Microsoft decided that it would be cute to automatically expand a directory in the navigation pane if I drag a file onto it. Now if I drag a file onto a directory that has subdirectories and hesitate for a moment, it automatically expands, and I end up dragging the file into the wrong directory and have to go looking for it. It would be nice if this behavior were corrected in Classic Explorer.
Thank you for making our computers usable again.

Folders expanding in the navigation pane to show subfolders when you drag and hold over them is standard behavior since Windows 95. How else would one drag something that he/she wanted to a subfolder?

Since Windows 95? I'd forgotten how long I've hated this feature.
How else? Just expand the tree to where you want to go before dragging.
Thanks for using "he/she" instead of the nearly ubiquitous "singular they". Maybe we can save the English language yet.
