Hi Ivo, I think it would be nice to optionally differentiate between Metro (Modern) and Desktop environment. Icons of desktop applications are only found on desktop environment and Tiles of Metro apps are only found on Metro environment. There should also be an option to always return to the same environment after closing an application: If you've started an application from Start Screen you should go back to the Start Screen after closing it, after closing an application started from the desktop you should return to the desktop. I do not believe Windows keeps information if a program is started from the desktop or from the start screen. There is also no way of detecting when a desktop program is closing (closing a window doesn't mean you are closing a program). |

For me windows 8.1 already behaves this way (dont recall if 8 did) the only difference between what you describe is the fact I can open apps from classic shell? |
