This feature was removed after vista and alot of people wanted it back. There is a third party patch/fix for windows 7 that involves removing some windows updates. (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/54 ... nable.html). It dosnt work for windows 8. I would realy love to get this feature and i know others would to.

Have you tried this solution?: http://www.csparks.com/Win7TaskbarMasher/ Although it only makes other windows appear on top of the taskbar when they are moved/dragged. Maximized windows still appear without covering the taskbar.

Now i have tried it. It is an option but not a solution. It offers an option so u can get windows on top of the taskbar but it has some bugs in it and it dosnt work like the "original" thing. One bug is that if u open the "Task Manager" u have to minimize the covering window to acces it. And i don't like having multiple software running for just one or two fixes.
It is under my strong opinion that this option should get baked in to this great software that classic shell is. :)
