Title says it all. Is this already possible? And if not, would it be worth the work to add?

The closest your going to get is the on the 'show search box' setting set to 'access with tab' You could create an autohotkey script to convert ctrl+f to tab IF the conditions are right (the menu is in focus) however thats alot of work when you could just press tab in the first place :P

I know. My brain just associates "CTRL F" with "SEARCH" to the point of struggling to do it any other way. And apparently I no AHK good

Ctrl+F puts focus in Start Menu search box starting with Classic Shell 4.3.0 :)
