 Post subject: Windows Update on W10?

Is there anyway an option to display the old style Windows Update could be added as the new style is horrible and lacks functionality.

Microsoft have already released a tool that lets you manually check for updates & lets you hide specific updates, but this is still not great.

No you are better off staying on earlier versions of Windows for full control over Windows Update.

I've already upgraded to W10 as it's so much better than W8.1 on everything else apart from Windows Update!

You should be able to just grab patches directly from Microsoft and manually install them rather than going through Windows Update. I had to do that myself for one of the patches that wasn't properly downloading.

In theory, this means that it should be possible to cripple Windows Update and then install a third-party client to manage Windows patches instead. I dunno if there's anything reputable out there, I haven't looked that hard.
