I'm not a tech person. I made a small donation to Classic Shell awhile back, love it.

I'm using Windows 10 preview. Classic Shell works well in W10 - but I also like the new 'official' start button.

I'm sure you folks have lots of ideas. My suggestion would be the option of dual start buttons - CS and the windows 10 start buttons side by side. If someone has already proposed this, my apologies - and I second the idea.

You mean 2 buttons that open up both different menu's?

Try this:
Create a shortcut on your desktop to:
"C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe" -togglenew

Then pin that to the taskbar. This should create a 'button' that atleast in windows 8; opens the start screen

Jcee -

I like that. Thanks. However, it doesn't completely solve the problem. You have to have CS enabled, then right-click and exit. With this window 10 build, it let's me do this and go back and forth, but it stops if I actually use the W10 button and open the menu. I can't 'open' CS after that.

But these are silly things to talk about since windows 10 hasn't been released and I'm just goofing around with it.

My idea was to have two start buttons working independently. Of course, I'm used to CS and will probably use it when windows 10 is released - but I'd rather have both.

There are issues with Windows 10 and Classic Shell right now. Windows 10 is not being loaded on new PCs right now. When Windows 10 is ready to be used by the mainstream audience, Classic Shell will be updated so you can use both menus with a single button.
