Could you implement the feature to check for updates and apply them manually?
Thanks.

That's exactly how it works. If there is an update you will get a notification, and then it will offer to download the new version for you. It is up to you to run the installer afterwards.

I mean MANUAL check for update, and then offer AUTOMATIC installation of the update. Without installing any Windows service.

I don't see the point. If you manually check for update, why not just click the Download button yourself?
Automatic installation is not possible because you need admin credentials to install software. Somebody must be there to type the admin password (especially if you want to do this without a service).

Well, there is no problem in clicking the Download button - is there a problem to run the downloaded installer programatically?
And is there a possibility to perform manual update check in the software already? I did not find it...

Run the Classic Shell Update shortcut and click on Check Now.

After the download succeeds, the updater will open the installer in Explorer. You have to double-click or press Enter. I chose not to run it automatically because you might want to save the installer for later. If I run it, Explorer might have to restart, and you will have hard time finding the installer afterwards.

So basically 4 clicks - Check Now, Download, Run.

OK, thanks. I only recommend you to integrate the update check in the Start button context menu for faster availability.
