It is possible this broke in version 4.3.0. My Windows 8 machine got automatically upgraded to 8.1, and it is hard to test that version.
I will put it on the list of things to check for the next version of Classic Shell.

Thank you again for making this most useful program. On my Windows 8.1 Desktop everything is fine, but on my Windows 8.0 Laptop, and then only under version 4.3.0, Shift+Click does not open the Windows Start Screen. As soon as I install 4.2.5, this bug goes away. It can only be replicated on my Windows 8.0 Laptop, and only under version 4.3.0. (4.2.7 Beta is also affected with this bug). I am standing by to test anything on this laptop that can help sort out this bug. This is about Classic Shell > Controls TAB > Shift+Click Opens: Windows Start Screen. |

Note that Windows 8.0 security patches and support is terminated by Microsoft and Windows 8.1 has minimal changes from Windows 8 (mostly additions, few removals) but is supported till Jan 2023. You just have to open the Windows Store app to get the free 8.1 upgrade. |

When something goes wrong, people factory reset their computers and are not computer literate enough to do anything else. Millions of factory images of Windows 8.0 are only usable with Ivo's Classic Shell.  Using Windows 8.0 without Classic Shell is unthinkable...  By far the biggest impact Classic Shell has is on Windows 8.0 systems, which are run on laptops which, for various reasons, cannot be updated from their Win8.0 factory images. Classic Shell is a gift from heaven for users who are not fortunate enough to move away from Windows 8.0. Until this bug is fixed, 4.2.5 is perfectly usable on Windows 8.0, people who need to install Classic Shell on Win8.0 should install that version instead of 4.3.0. Thank you for still considering fixing this bug in the next version because all other operating systems will somehow survive without Classic Shell. Windows 8.0 cannot. |
