Hi. We have installed classic Shell on our Windows Server 2012 and we have activated the classic start menu and the classic start button. But some people in our company don´t like the classic start button and want to change to the aero start button.
Normally the people should change to the other start button by making the changes by them self in the classic shell settings. But after log off and log on the classic start button is shown again.
It seems to me, that the changes will not save. I tried it also as admin. The result is the same. What is the problem? How can we solve this?

The changes are saved to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings in the Registry. If that Reg key does not have write permissions, it will not get saved.

If you are not comfortable with setting Registry permissions, you can use Winaero's RegOwnershipEx tool: http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.210 to EASILY take ownership of any key and grant full write permissions.
