Post subject:	Cortana, icons on bottom right, and start screen won't work
So my laptop was running great until I shut it down and came back on it later today... I tried clicking on cortana but nothing worked... I noticed all of the icons on the bottom right do nothing as well. This has happened to me before but I solved it by deleting classic shell and updating my laptop but its not working this time. Please help me I have no idea why its doing this and I don't want to end up having to delete a bunch of stuff anyone know how to fix this? I looked everywhere but nothing seems to work

Classic Shell only adds the Classic Start Menu to Windows 10 and some Explorer add-ons. Cortana and other system tray/notification area functionality should not be affected by it. Windows 10 is known to unreliably stop opening Metro UI components all of a sudden. The only thing you can do is make sure all updates are applied. Having Classic Shell installed or uninstalled will have no effect on the operation of Cortana and tray area/right side Metro UI applets.

is there a way to fix this? i updated everything and tried a few things but it seems to be worse now

That is the Windows Start Menu. Please do not confuse it with the Classic Start Menu. Classic Shell does not modify the Windows menu in any way. To fix the corrupted apps, you could try upgrading Windows 10 to Version 1511 from Windows Update.
