I have a Toshiba laptop originally with 8 now upgraded to 10. I have used Classic Shell on 8 and 8.1 with no problems. However, with 10, everytime I start my computer, I have to "repair" classic shell in order for it to appear. I uninstalled Classic Shell and reinstalled to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

What if you manually start ClassicStartMenu.exe from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell? Does the start menu work, or do you really have to do a repair? |

I can manually go into C:Program files, etc. but that doesn't solve the problem of it automatically appearing when the computer starts. My question is: once installed, should CS automatically appear in windows 10 or not? If so, why doesn't it on my computer? |

I understand what you are saying, but before I can recommend troubleshooting steps, I want to make sure it is simply a problem of it not starting. You mentioned you have to run a repair on it. Is it necessary? |

@kaykatz, Classic Start Menu automatically launches at startup (and Windows Installer has a self-healing feature that probably repairs it). For troubleshooting purposes, you can try turning off the setting "Start automatically for this user" from the "General Behavior" tab in Classic Start Menu Settings. Then restart Windows again so it won't launch automatically (and should not be repaired automatically by MSI/Windows Installer). Then try manually starting it from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe. Observe if the MSI repairing happens when you start it manually. |
