Hey all,

First post.

Have a perfect running windows 8.1 machine....flawless and sfc scannow passes and has all updates.
Classic Shell installed from day 1 and it run pretty good for 2 years now. I think I had version 4.1

Up to this week however I have had trouble with the wi-fi connectivity from day 1 and turns out it is being caused by Classic Shell and I had
to un-install it. 1 time out of 4 or 5 when I start the machine it would not auto-connect but all is well now since the un-install.
I am 10 feet from the router and other laptops work fine and always have.

Also, every once in a while from day one when I am scrolling 1 click at a time it will take off and scroll to the bottom.
Doesn't matter what browser or if in file explorer.
Has not done that now either since the un-install but I need more time to determine if that problem is cured also.
I swapped buttons on the touchpad and it didn't make any difference.

I thought you would want to know. Classic Shell is a great product and I am glad to be able to help with feedback.

You can be sure that both wifi connectivity and scrolling are something that Classic Shell does not modify in Windows. That it happens on the PC with Classic Shell installed is not a good enough evidence :) You need something more specific and reproducible than that.

Do some long-term testing without Classic Shell installed (for a few months) and maybe you will find out it isn't related to Classic Shell at all.

Thanks for the reply.
The only thing that I can think of is when I start the machine everything loads and somehow the wi-fi can't connect even tho it appears to try. I get the little circle above the signal strength 1 out of 4 or 5 bootups. If I wait about a minute it connects automatically when it tries again if I don't go ahead and connect manually.
I am amazed that in the last couple of days it has connected every time, never been that consistent before.
COULD be coincidence.
I will run the machine for another week or so and put shell back in. The scrolling issue is not important to me at the moment and I am just going to focus on the wi-fi for now.

I think if the wi-fi issue proves to be related, it may be more to do with timing of the way things load than an actual software problem if that makes any sense.

**edit..If I could get the wi-fi to re-try immediately that would be great but i can't.

We'll see, I will report back . Thanks !!
