Since installing, I have had the old Vista "need permission/continue/skip/cancel" prompt when copying files. I have the UAC at the lowest (off) setting and I am using an administrator account.

Any ideas on why this would happen?

UAC prompts are not affected/changed by Classic Shell's Explorer component.

In Windows 8, Microsoft made the UAC slider lie to the user so even if you set it at the lowest position, it doesn't actually disable UAC. To truly disable UAC, you must use Registry Editor to go to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System.
Set the EnableLUA value to 0 and then restart Windows to disable UAC.

Thereafter you won't get UAC prompts in Explorer. Note that when you disable UAC using the Registry, you lose the ability to run Modern apps. That is how Microsoft designed it.

Thank you.

I have no use for Metro apps anyway.

I am using mostly 7 in a dual boot with 8.1, and I barely used 8.1 because of the shell "disimprovements." That's probably why I didn't notice it before this.

Thanks for Classic Shell! "Making Windows Work Again." (quote me if you like)
