(i searched forum for this topic, and only found threads about keeping transparency ON-- this thread is about turning transparency OFF)

hi

in Windows 8, there's a slider called "Color Intensity" here:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization\Color and Appearance

--It affects the color of window title bars and the taskbar.

In Classic Shell, if i check "Disable Taskbar Transparency" on Windows 8 Settings tab, the taskbar still responds to the Color Intensity setting.

But if i check "Disable Glass Transparency" on Skin tab, then the Start menu does NOT respond to the Color Intensity setting.

This is inconsistent behavior. The problem is i have the color intensity setting the way i like it, but Classic Start Menu does not respect the windows Color Intensity setting-- the classic start menu is too intense.

Yes the Start Menu not automatically matching the exact taskbar color is one of Classic Shell Start Menu's big issues. Use the free Winaero skin 2.0 for Classic Shell: http://winaero.com/blog/get-the-best-lo ... -skin-2-0/ It has an easy-to-use installer where you can choose non-transparent taskbar or transparent taskbar and it automatically configures the Start Menu and Taskbar colors to match by 1-click. Let me know if that skin worked for you to match the Start Menu color with the Taskbar color that you set.
