Hello all,

My config is as follows:

Windows 8.1 Pro Preview (Build 9431 w/all updates current)
Avast 8, Build 8.0.1496 (Beta for Win 8.1 w/all definitions current)
Classic Shell Beta 3.9.1.0 (just installed today)

Ran an Avast 8 boot-time scan and it found an issue with the new Classic Shell executable as identified below:

Note that I downloaded the exe file twice just to be sure.

Not sure what this might mean but I thought I'd post an FYI at this point.

Cheers!

Avast is being stupid.
The exe contains 2 installers, one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. However since they are like 80% identical, I removed the identical parts from one of them to reduce the overall installer size. What Avast sees is an incomplete installer and it barfs.
Maybe I should encrypt the installers so stupid programs don't try to overanalyze them.

I rely on stupid programs like Avast to protect my system from malware so thanks for confirming that it is not an issue and expressing your opinion that Avast should have been intelligent enough to not over-analyze your executable.
