I was running classic shell before I stupidly asked microsoft to help fix my computer, well now I have done a clean install of windows 10 (dont let them play with your registry they dont know what they are doing).

Now I tried installing classic shell 4.2.5c again and it will constantly refresh the desktop, task bar, start menu and close any folders that are open. It stops the second I close the classic shell app though. Can anyone suggest anything, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but that does nothing.

Try the beta version from the home page, Classic Shell 4.2.7.

Made no difference, only happens when the start menu part is added.

Then your Explorer might be crashing. Can you capture a crash dump as per these instructions?: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6

The crash seems related to a file called IDTNC64.cpl, which I believe is related to the audio driver. It is located in G:\Windows\System32.

Internet search for that file suggests that it is not compatible with Windows 10 and you should uninstall it. Some people have had luck renaming or deleting that file.
